Drawing on several years’ experience as a researcher, teacher and practitioner in the international development and aid sector, I have skills and expertise in policy research, project and programme evaluation, training and facilitation, and writing for publication.

Areas of specialism include food, agriculture and nutrition; science and technology policy; NGOs and development; capacity building and organisational development.

I am interested in how decisions are made in international development efforts to improve food security, health and well-being in the Global South: and the extent to which these decisions respond to lived realities and local knowledge in diverse contexts.

This research focuses on the following themes: governance of agricultural biotechnology; agriculture, food security and climate change; biofortification and human nutrition; politics of food choice.
